Rocker: The curve along the bottom of the board from nose to tail. The single most important component with regards to how your board works.

Accelerated Rocker: A dramatically increased bend in rocker in a relatively short distance.

Kick: Extreme flip in the last 6” of the rocker.

Bottom Contour: The shape of the bottom of the board from rail to rail such as: concave, vee, flat, and roll. Various combinations affect rocker and determine much of a boards “feel.”

Foil: The flow of a board’s thickness as it runs from nose to tail.

Outline: The elliptical shape of a board along the outer edges from nose to tail.

Nose Width: The distance from rail edge to rail edge as measured one foot back from the tip of the nose.

Tail Width: The distance from rail edge to rail edge as measured one foot up from the end of the tail.

Tail Block: The shape of the very end of the tail, such as a swallow, square, squash, round, etc.

Volume: The total buoyancy of a board as determined by the outline, thickness, foil, deck and rail shape.
